Product Description

Look at this amazing size of antique mammoth tusk. It is 56" x 39.5" x 3" (142cm x 100.5cm x 7.5cm) and is one of the rare exceptions that such a huge mammoth ivory tusk has been found in the permafrost. Crafted by hand, the skilled artist has managed to recreate rushing elephants in the wild in such clear details that it is astounding.

The charging elephants, tusk to tusk while the baby elephants have all been carved to perfection. Look at the fine detailing on the floral background and the trees which are clearly noticeable. The wrinkly skin of the elephants, the turn of the trunks, stamping feet, rising dust and the small elephants tagging along are amazing. The artist ahs managed to capture the wild elephants very clearly.

Notice the brown color of the ivory, which signifies that it was buried under the Tundra permafrost for eons and the organic ivory has absorbed the soil minerals. The 3dimensional carving has been carved into the tusk while the raw brown tusk exterior has been left natural while the artist has signed at one end.  The elegant hand sculpted wooden stand has been custom crafted to provide stability and add charm to this rare yet magnificent mammoth tusk.
